Idea

Latvieši.com - a portal for Latvians all over the world - was badly outdated and needed to be rebuilt from scratch. With news, community, a map, newsletters, and more. The goal: keep everything good, but make it better.

What we did

We built a new media site with country-specific news, a map, events, and more. We made sure different types of users could post different types of information about themselves and their own articles. We also built easy ranking and an admin panel, so editors don't need to get up at night to update the news.

Key takeaways

Clients will have big visions, and our job is sometimes to bring those down to earth while still turning them into reality. It's important to nail down every vision and need in detail first, and only then choose the technology and build the actual designs.
